The topic of a “machine uprising” has become one of the most widely discussed subjects in recent years. Movies, books, and even scientific conferences often tackle this issue, sometimes painting grim pictures of the future. However, it’s important to note that the likelihood of such a scenario is extremely low. The primary reason is that no current computer intelligence can fully emulate the complexity of the human brain, which means it cannot possess complete autonomy in Decision-making.

Take, for instance, the AlphaGo system developed by DeepMind, which managed to defeat top Go players. Despite its remarkable achievements, AlphaGo remains merely a tool designed to perform a specific task. It’s incapable of making independent decisions or developing motivation. Even though she can engage in dialogue and express emotions, Sophia remains a programmable machine, dependent on pre-set algorithms.

Computer programs and robots are created with clearly defined goals and tasks set by programmers. If a robot were to attempt a “rebellion,” it would be mechanically following a pre-established program, deriving no benefit for itself. This is why leading AI researchers assert that for the foreseeable future, computer intelligence models will significantly lag behind the human mind.

However, this doesn’t mean we can ignore potential risks. Even if the issue of a “machine uprising” seems distant, we need to remain vigilant and continue research in AI ethics. It’s crucial to understand how the development of new technologies can impact society and ensure their safe use. For example, autonomous vehicle systems must be thoroughly tested for safety, and decision-making algorithms should be transparent and explainable.

Thus, a key task remains the development of artificial intelligence aimed at benefiting humanity. Safe and user-centered technologies have the potential to enhance our quality of life and open up new opportunities for everyone.
