Secrets of Public Speaking by Leonid Smekhov
The MSU Business Club proudly introduces a new lecture series focused on developing soft skills. Kicking off this series is Leonid Smekhov, a well-known host and head of Communicator Smart Trainings. His lecture, titled “Speak Effectively: Secrets of Public Speaking,” promises to be insightful. Join us on March 3 at 7:00 PM at MSU’s Faculty of Economics, Room P-7 (directions).
Verbal communication is a part of our daily lives, yet we often overlook the nuances that make it impactful and memorable. Leonid Smekhov will break down the art of wordplay and intonation, teaching you how to master the craft of public speaking. Expect an interactive and informative session because being able to articulate and present your thoughts convincingly is essential for everyone. To top it off, a lottery will be held, with the grand prize being the book “Memory Never Lies” from the publisher “Mann, Ivanov, and Ferber.”
Public speaking isn’t just a set of techniques; it’s an integral part of our lives that helps create the right impression, influences how others perceive us, and sets us apart. The lecture will cover a wide range of tools to enhance your speech—from breathing exercises to public speaking tactics and audience engagement strategies.
Your participation will be actively encouraged through practical exercises. Improvisation lessons will help you handle unexpected situations, while the segment on overcoming stage fright will build your confidence and ease before speaking. Participants will have the chance to engage in quick speech tournaments or act out scenarios that mimic real-life situations. This hands-on practice not only hones your skills but also fills you with energy and inspiration. Don’t miss the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and practice it under the guidance of an expert!
